Security Issues on Online Gaming

Games,games and more games...in the past two blogs that we have posted for you to give ideas and comments we have written about the introduction of online gaming,examples of online games,advantages and disadvantages of online gaming. In this third blog, I will share with you readers about the Security Issues on online gaming.

Why do we need to look into the security purposes of online gaming while you gamers acan just actually have fun playing the online games? This is because to ensure that online gamers are aware of the surrounding and take precautions to prevent such problems.

I have done a few websites research to find the three most frequently security issues that people and game companies around the world are trying to prevent today to share with you guys. I do play online games myself once in a while and i do have friends who are actually VERY ADDICTED by online games. But, I too have never thought about the security of online gaming myself.

The most frequently security issue that have been quite a problem for game companies and websites are unprotected credit card numbers. Have you gamers have thought about how unsecure your credit card numbers can be? When users are too addicted by online games they can possibly do anything to reach the most satisfaction of playing the games as they can. Some websites require users to subscribe to their websites to play the next level of the game or whatsoever. This is when they will ask you for your credit card numbers. Some websites might protect your credit card numbers but some do not protect it at all! So,in order to be secure and to be safe users have to take actions of going through this important steps when playing online games. What will you do if your credit card have been charged over the limit and you are not the one using it?

The second example is social abuse. Social abuse can happen when a gamer is too addicted by the game they will use the social abusement on different types of abusement in reality. This issue is very important because we do not want to have an online game freak sitting next to us being an everyday people. Games like fighting and killing can effect gamers mind and urge the gamer to do it for real. Social abuse for examples are causing sexual and racial abuse, using game for commercial or advertising purposes and etc. Game companies and websites are now giving options of censorship in playing online games so gamers have their limits to remember that they are living in reality.

The last example that I have founded during my research is cheating detection. When a gamer are too addicted by online games, they will again do ANYTHING to reach the top level of the game and to get maximum pleasure if they won the game. This includes to cheat in certain game websites. But you gamers have to REMEMBER! that the administrator can charge you or caught you whe you are cheating. They can identify exactly where the cheats are taking place.

So to all you online game addict, do revise this few examples of online security issues that I have written so that you guys will play online games safely and for you guys to know your limitations in playing games.
